Shinobu Omiya is a young girl who once stayed in England, where she met Alice Cartelet, enjoying the time spent with her. The home of Alice featured in Episode 1 is Fosse Farmhouse B&B - an actual location in England.The property was chosen as it is located just beside the beautiful village of Castle Combe. The owner Caron Cooper is portrayed in the anime as the mother of Alice and her Vintage 1954 series 2 Morris Minor car is featured throughout the episode collecting Shinobu from the station. Shinobu's bedroom is 'The Pine room' at the B&B and all the scenes baking scones together by the girls in the AGA were actually made in the Farmhouse kitchen. One day, Shinobu receives a letter from Alice saying she is coming to Japan, and surely enough she appears and joins her at her school.
